CONVERSATION WITH MD SWIFT CAR NIGERIA who turned 60 recently.

Let’s meet you ma’am:

My name is Patience Otrafanowei, am the Managing Director Swift Car Nigeria . As I reflect on my life’s journey, I am reminded of the twists and turns that have shaped me into the person I am today.

Am Born with a passion for the diplomatic corps and a love for dance, I never imagined that the corporate world would be my calling. Yet, it is in this realm that I have found my true purpose and achieved remarkable success.

Let’s delve into you early Life and Education

My educational journey began at a cozy primary school in Enugu , followed by St. Louis Girls’ Secondary School and Methodist Girls’ High School in Yaba, Lagos.

These institutions laid the foundation for my future endeavors. I then pursued a Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Ibadan, followed by a degree in International Law and Diplomacy from the University of Lagos.

My thirst for knowledge led me to the University of Warwick in Coventry, United Kingdom, where I earned a Master’s degree in Comparative Labor Studies. As a Chevening Scholar and an alumnus of Lagos Business School, I have been privileged to be part of esteemed organizations and professional bodies.

Tell us about your Career

My professional journey spans almost 40 years, beginning as a youth corps member at Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC). I then worked with John Holt PLC, rising to the position of Assistant General Manager. My skills were further honed at C&I PLC, where I became the General Manager for Hertz Franchise.

In 2004, I took on the challenge of building Swift Car Rental Nigeria from scratch, starting in a guest bedroom in my family house. Under my leadership, the Company has grown to become a reputable player in the Nigerian economy, with a diverse clientele base and a reputation for excellent service delivery.

So many Achievements and Awards,

Throughout my career, I have received numerous awards and recognition for my contributions. Some notable awards include Service Personality of the Year, Woman of the Year Service Award in Auto Rentals, and Road Safety Champions Award. These accolades are a testament to my dedication and hard work.

Personal family Life

I am blessed with a very loving husband, Elaye Otrafanowei, and three wonderful children. My family has been my Rock, supporting me through the ups and downs of life. I am also proud to serve as the Vice President of my Old Students Association, giving back to the community that nurtured me.

Share some of your Values and Legacy

I strongly believe in the importance of education, hard work, and dedication to duties. These values have not only shaped my life but have also been passed on to my children, mentees, colleagues, friends, and associates.

As I celebrate my 60th birthday, I am grateful for the journey so far and look forward to continuing to make a positive impact in the world around me.
