The Governor of Lagos State Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Minister of Transportation Hon. Rotimi Amaechi visited the scene of the accident at Oshodi involving a train and two vehicles. The Governor through his socia media page said “It is regrettable that this happened on the day stakeholders reached a consensus to close the gates into the arena.”

 

He added that ” This is one of the concerns we have raised about commuters’ safety around the area. This accident should strengthen our resolve to prevent a reoccurrence.

Sanwo-Olu said ” This is also a clarion call on our people to be safety conscious whenever they need to drive across the rail track. If there is slow movement of vehicles at any railway bypass, we must keep a safe distance from the rail tracks. We have rolled out advocacy on this and we will continue to intensify efforts. The safety of the people is paramount.
