THE NEW ADO-IYIN ROAD COMMISSIONED BY Dr. J. K FAYEMI

THE NEW ADO-IYIN ROAD COMMISSIONED BY Dr. J. K FAYEMI

I would like to personally thank H.E. Dr John Kayode FAYEMI for prioritizing the construction of the new Ado-Iyin Ekiti Road. This road means a lot to me because I have always been bothered by the number of lives lost at ‘akanasan’ on the old Ado-Iyin Ekiti road. This is a huge task when you take into account the number of rocks that needed to be blasted to pave way for this road. Please find below the Governor’s comments at the commissioning.

“Today, I had the honour of commissioning the new Ado-Iyin dual-carriage road. This road was originally awarded in 1978 by the then Military Government of General Olusegun Obasanjo but was abandoned shortly after.

Our administration commenced construction of the road in February 2019. From the inception, the road was meant to be Ado-Efon road but due to the paucity of funds, we decided to construct it in phases. I am pleased to share that the first phase which links Ado to Iyin has been completed.

This completed phase will open our State capital to further expansion, reduce travelling time between the two towns, ease the stress of commuters, and enhance the marketability of our farm produce.

As a government, we understand and appreciate the importance of good road network to the socio-economic development of our dear state. We remain committed to working for our people to the very last day of our mandate.”
